Movies influence on what’s good & what’s evil
talking about how movies effect people prosecutive of good and evil written by our amazing writer Retag Asiri
What if the only difference between good and evil is who is telling the story?
it may seem like our understanding of good and evil is a straightforward concept.
After all, we are taught about what’s right and what’s wrong from a young age.
However, the more I think about it, the more I realize that our understanding of it is much more nuanced and complex. Because sometimes evil is disguised in good, and good looks like evil. And Something that movies doesn’t mention is sometimes the villain of the story is someone else hero.
Our perception of what is morally good and bad comes from many different places: parents, stories and friends. But one big factor is movies. They play a significant role in shaping our understanding of good and evil by presenting moral dilemmas, emotional responses, and showing different perspectives. some ways of that is:
1. Moral Dilemmas:
Movies make us think about what's right and wrong. They show characters in tough situations where they have to make hard choices. which makes us question our own beliefs, and think about what might happen and the ethical impact of different actions.
2. Character Representation:
The way characters are represented in movies can influence our perception of good and evil. They show heroes as good brave and help others, while villains as bad, mean and selfish. These characterizations help us form judgments about what qualities we think are good or bad.
3. Empathy and Identification:
They allow us to identify with characters and their struggles. When we connect emotionally with characters who represent different moral perspectives, it can effect and challenge our understanding of good and evil.
4. The storytelling way:
A story that presents a character as a hero one moment and a villain the next can challenge our perspective of what is good and what is evil.
It is important to remember that movies are fictional representations, and while they can offer valuable insights, our understanding of good and evil should also be informed by real-life experiences, critical thinking, a diverse range of perspectives, and personal reflection…to be continued
